The School Day
At The King’s School, we believe in fostering a structured yet dynamic learning environment that sets our students up for success. Our school day is designed to provide a balance of academic challenge and personal development, ensuring every pupil makes the most of their time with us.
School Hours
The compulsory school day begins promptly at 8.35am with morning registration and concludes at 3.25pm, amounting to 35.4 learning hours per week.
Structure of the Day
Pupils in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 follow a well-organised timetable that includes a 5-minute transition period between lessons, allowing time to move across the school. Lessons are structured to maximise engagement, with double periods lasting 75 minutes to enable deeper exploration of subjects.
Our carefully planned schedule ensures that students receive high-quality teaching while also having the necessary breaks to refresh and recharge throughout the day.
By maintaining a structured yet supportive routine, we create an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. Whether in lessons, enrichment activities, or social time, every moment at The King’s School is an opportunity to grow.
