Year 3 Applications for September 2027 Entry

Application Information

Applications for entry into Year 3 for 2027 will open in September 2026. We would advise you to read the Admissions policy in full before submitting an application.

Please see the information below for key dates:

  • The Year 3 Open Morning will be held in November 2026, date and time TBC. No appointments necessary. This event is for parents/carers who are interested in learning more about our Junior Department before applying for their child
  • The Supplementary Information Form (SIF) to apply in category 3 (Church of England and Methodist) will be available on the School's website from Friday 11 September 2026
  • The SIF must be signed and stamped by your religious leader and returned directly to the School by the deadline of 15 January 2027

Year 7 Applications for September 2027 Entry

Application Information 

Applications for entry into Year 7 for 2027 will open in September 2026. We would advise you to read our Year 7 FAQs document as well as the Admissions policy in full before submitting an application.  

Please see the information below for key dates:

  • The Year 6 Open evening will be held on Tuesday 22 September 2026 from 6.00pm - 8.00pm, no appointments necessary.
  • Supplementary Information Forms (SIF) to apply in category A2 (Church of England and Methodist) and category A5 (Other Christian Denominations and Other Faiths) will be available on the School's website from Friday 11 September 2026.
  • If you are applying in one if the Faith categories, the SIF must be signed and stamped by your religious leader and returned directly to School by the deadline of 31 October 2026.  
Entrance Exam
  • There are 12 places available in category B1, Academic
  • Unless you intend to apply for you child in Category B1 (Academic), there is no requirement for your child to sit the Entrance Exam to apply for a Year 7 place in any of the other categories
  • Please note that all of the categories are ranked separately and sitting the exam does not increase your child's chances of being offered a place in another category
  • Children with an EHCP do not need to sit the Entrance Exam. If your child has an EHCP you will not apply through General Admissions for a Year 7 place. Your child's transfer to secondary school will be processed by the SEN team at your Local Authority. Please see the LA School Admissions website for further information
  • For those intending to sit the Entrance Exam, it will take place on Saturday 3 October 2026
  • Registration for the Entrance Exam will open on the School's website on Friday 11 September 2026
  • The deadline to register for the exam is 9.00am on Monday 28 September 2026. We are sorry but we cannot accept any late registrations

Music Auditions
  • There are 3 places available in category B2, Musical ability
  • Unless you intend to apply for you child in Category B2 (Musical Ability), there is no requirement for your child to attend the Music Auditions to apply for a Year 7 place in any of the other categories
  • The Music Auditions will be held on Wednesday 30 September, Thursday 1 and Friday 2 October 2026
  • Registration for the Music Auditions will open on the School's website on Friday 11 September 2026
    The deadline to register for the Music Auditions is 9.00am on Monday 28 September 2026. We are sorry but we cannot accept any late registrations

Year 12 Applications for September 2027 Entry

Post-16 Open Evening
  • The Post-16 Open evening for applications for September 2027 is being held on Thursday 5 November 2026, 5.45pm to 7.45pm
  • Booking is required. Tickets will be available to book from October (date TBC) via a link on this page
  • The rear School car park will be open for visiting parents/prospective students to park, however space is limited and we advise arriving early
Application Information for External Year 12 Students in September 2027
  • We advise that applicants read the Year 12 admissions criteria and subject requirements before submitting an application
  • Applications for external students for Year 12 for September 2027 will open on Thursday 1 October 2026. Applications will close at 9.00am on Friday 4 December 2026. New applicants to the school must apply through our data collection partner, Applicaa. Full instructions on how to apply will be provided on this page from the Thursday 1 October 2026
  • Current King’s Year 11 students must not apply via Applicaa. Parents/students will be emailed instructions on how to submit their application and option choices
