Meet the Head

Welcome to our School

Since 1541, thousands of students have proudly joined the King’s School family, benefiting from an excellent education underpinned by our strong Christian values, close links to our local Cathedral, and a shared belief in the importance of kind and caring relationships.

Explaining what makes our school special is a challenge. Our Ofsted report highlights exceptional academic outcomes, calm and mature behaviour, and high-quality teaching. But these aspects only scratch the surface. Our parents love seeing their children thrive, be happy, and develop their passions. Over two hundred students take part in weekly music practices, sporting fixtures run daily throughout the term, and spare time is filled with Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, Science competitions, and trips to Rome and Athens.

Our School is one that gives generously; each year, over one hundred sixth form students mentor and read with younger pupils. All students contribute to a week-long charity event that raises thousands for good causes, and many volunteer in large numbers, from planting trees to sitting on local youth councils, and from singing at residential care homes. Our students both gain from and greatly contribute to the success of our school.

Please take the opportunity to explore our website or our social media. I look forward to meeting you in person.
