Request an Absence

Requesting Leave of Absence During Term Time

Any requests for a pupil to return to school after the beginning of term, to leave before the end of term, or to be absent during term time (including dental/medical appointments, funerals, religious observance or any other planned absence) must be made to the Headteacher via the school’s Pupil Absence Request form at least seven days in advance, where possible.

Please be aware that legislation does not give any entitlement for parents to take their child on holiday during term time. Any leave of absence can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances, and the Headteacher must be satisfied that the reasons provided warrant the granting of leave.

If leave is authorised, the Headteacher will decide how many days can be granted.

Taking your child out of school without permission may result in a Penalty Notice fine.
