Support The King’s School
Since 1541, The King’s School has delivered exceptional education rooted in our Church of England foundation. Today, we remain one of the country’s top-performing comprehensive schools—thanks to the generosity of our wider community: staff, parents, governors, alumni (OPA), and King’s Friends volunteers.
Your support funds transformative projects that enrich student life and provide career insights that open minds, build confidence and shape bright futures.
Why Your Support Matters
We continue to work hard to ensure our government funding, and any financial reserves, are used effectively to support our students. In the last couple of years, we have invested a significant amount into 'Henry's' (our much-needed eating area), completed a full refurbishment of the astro-pitch, updated to the toilet blocks and invested heavily into a new IT infrastructure (which was nearly twenty years old!). Additionally, last year, we were pleased to secure a government grant to replace our fire alarm system and undertake some intruder alarm updates. In 2025-26, we are aiming to replace our ageing boilers, as well as painting the next area of the school.
Looking ahead to 2025–26, we face a projected deficit due to unfunded pay awards and rising costs. We receive nearly £1,000 less per student than the highest-funded school in the city and maintaining our historic site adds further financial pressure, especially with rising energy bills.
Ways to Give / Contribute
