Open Morning for Year 3 Applicants for September 2026 Entry

  • The Year 3 Open Morning will be held on Thursday 6 November 2025, 9.30am to 11am 

  • We strongly advise that you read the Year 3 Admissions Criteria in full before submitting an application: Year 3 Admissions Criteria 2026

  • This event is for parents / carers who are interested in learning more about our Junior Department before applying for their child

  • No appointments necessary

  • The Open Morning will be held at Madeley House, which is the building just down the road from the main School. If you need any guidance please check in at the Main School Reception and they will be able to guide you

Supplementary Information Form (SIF)

Completed SIF forms must be returned to The School Registrar by the 15 January 2026 deadline.

Chorister Information

For information on Chorister auditions and the ‘Be a Chorister for a Day' event, please check Peterborough Cathedral’s website. For any questions about the Chorister Auditions, please contact the Cathedral directly. 

Application Information

  • Applications for entry into Year 7 for 2026 will open on 12 September 2025

  • We strongly advise that you read the Year 7 Admissions Criteria in full before submitting an application: Year 7 Admissions Criteria 2026

  • The Entrance Exam and Music Audition Registration Forms will be available from 12 September 2025 - please scroll down to read important information about the Entrance Exam / Music Auditions and to access the Registration Forms

  • The Local Authority Common Preference form must also be completed and submitted to the Local Authority to whom you pay your Council Tax by their deadline date, which is 31 October 2025

  • You may apply in as many categories for which your child meets the criteria

  • Please read the Year 7 Entry FAQs document which contains important information about the application process

Open Evening

  • The Year 6 Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 23 September 2025 from 6pm to 8pm, no appointments necessary

Entrance Exam

  • Please only complete and submit the Entrance Exam Registration Form once

  • The Entrance Exam will be held on Saturday 4 October 2025. After you have registered your child, you will receive an email with detailed instructions for the day, including timings

  • The deadline for submitting and Entrance Exam registration form is Wednesday 1 October 2025. Please note that in past years we have had to close the registration early as we have reached the maximum number of children we can accommodate in the School. We therefore recommend registering your child early for the exam

  • The same parent / carer name must be used on all forms to apply for your child, including your Local Authority Application form

  • Only children born between 01 September 2014 and 31 August 2015 will be eligible for Year 7 entry in September 2026 and can be registered to sit the Entrance Exam.

  • Admission for any children born outside of these dates is classed as an "admission out of cohort". Please do not fill out the entrance exam registration form and contact the School Registrar at admissions@kings.peterborough.sch.uk. Please state the following in the subject line: Out of Cohort - Entrance Exam - Child's Name - DoB

  • Please take your time to read each question carefully and check the information you have entered is accurate and that there are no spelling mistakes. Please use standard capitalisation when entering names, for example, please write John Smith instead of JOHN SMITH

  • Please use an email address that you check regularly

  • Please check that you have entered your email address correctly on the form (if your email address is entered incorrectly, you will not receive a copy of your responses)

  • A copy of this form will be emailed to you along with the registration document that contains instructions for the day. Please print this out and bring it with you on the day of the exam

  • Please check your spam / junk folders before contacting the School

  • If you have any questions regarding the Entrance Exam please refer to the Entrance Exam FAQs document in the first instance

Music Auditions

  • The Music Auditions will be held on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 October 2025

  • The same parent / carer name must be used on all forms to apply for your child, including your Local Authority Application form

  • Only children born between 01 September 2014 and 31 August 2015 will be eligible for Year 7 entry in September 2026 and can be registered to sit the Entrance Exam

  • Admission for any children born outside of these dates is classed as an "admission out of cohort".
