Year 3 Applications for September 2026 Entry
  • We strongly advise that you read the Year 3 Admissions Criteria in full before submitting an application: Year 3 Admissions Criteria 2026
  • To apply for a Year 3 place for September 2026, your child must be born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 (currently in Year 2 at infant/primary school)
  • To apply for a Year 3 place for September 2026 entry, you must complete a Local Authority ‘Transfer to Junior School 2026 Application Form’. This must be submitted to the Local Authority to whom you pay your Council Tax by their deadline date, which is 15 January 2026
  • You may apply in as many categories for which your child meets the criteria
  • The Local Authority will inform you of the outcome of your application on Primary National Offers Day, which is 16 April 2026

Completed SIF forms must be returned to The School Registrar by the 15 January 2026 deadline.

Chorister Information
  • Chorister auditions are organised by Peterborough Cathedral
  • Auditions for Year 3 entry for 2026 were held the week commencing 10 November 2025
  • For any questions about the Chorister Auditions please contact the Cathedral directly via their website.
Application Information

  • Applications for entry into Year 7 for 2026 opened on 12 September 2025

  • We strongly advise that you read the Year 7 Admissions Criteria in full before submitting an application: Year 7 Admissions Criteria 2026

  • The Entrance Exam and Music Audition Registration Forms will be available from 12 September 2025 - please scroll down to read important information about the Entrance Exam and Music Auditions

  • The Local Authority Common Preference form must also be completed and submitted to the Local Authority to whom you pay your Council Tax by their deadline date, which is 31 October 2025

  • You may apply in as many categories for which your child meets the criteria

Entrance Exam

  • Registration for the Entrance Exam has now closed. 

  • The deadline for submitting an Entrance Exam registration form was 12 noon on Wednesday 1 October 2025.

  • The instructions for the Entrance Exam, which took place on Saturday 4 October 2025, were sent to the email address used to register your child. Please check your spam / junk folders before contacting the School. 

  • If you have any questions regarding the Entrance Exam please refer to the Entrance Exam FAQs document in the first instance.

  • If you have registered your child for the Entrance Exam and they are no longer able to attend please email EntranceExam@kings.peterborough.sch.uk and state the following in the subject line: Entrance Exam Withdrawal - Child's Name - DoB

Results 

  • Your child’s Entrance Exam results will be sent to you via email by the end of Monday 6 October 2025.

  • Please do not contact the School by telephone. We will not be able to advise you of your child’s results. 

  • Please check your junk / spam folders before contacting the School.

  • If you have not received an email with your child’s results by Tuesday 7 October, please email EntranceExam@kings.peterborough.sch.uk and state your child’s full name and DoB in the subject line.

Music Auditions

  • Registration for Music Auditions has now closed. 

  • The deadline for registering and booking a Music Audition was 10.00am on Monday 29 September 2025.

  • If you have registered your child for the Music Auditions and they are no longer able to attend please email admissions@kings.peterborough.sch.uk and state the following in the subject line: Music Audition Withdrawal - Child’s Name - DoB
