Prefects

A Guide to Becoming A Leader at King's

All Prefects are “Duty Prefects” - everyone who chooses to be a Prefect will also be a Duty Prefect and have responsibilities as follows:

  • To be on duty at morning break / lunchtime once a week in a designated area (e.g. Dining Hall / Henry’s / Cage / Quad etc.) working in partnership with a duty member of staff
  • To keep an eye on general behaviour around the School, fostering good relationships, calling attention to unacceptable behaviour and, if necessary, passing on any difficulties to a member of staff
  • To be present for the end-of-term clear-up at the end of every term
  • Duty Prefects may also be asked to take responsibility for an area of the School, or a specific classroom

All Prefects can be called upon to be a Tour Guide at anytime, usually during their free periods.

A list of Prefect Opportunities available at King's, with descriptions of the roles, will be available shortly.
