STEM Clubs
At King's, we offer your child a dynamic array of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) extra-curricular activities designed to ignite curiosity and hone problem-solving skills. With opportunities ranging from hands-on projects to theoretical challenges, our students explore beyond the classroom and deepen their passion for learning.
Our Science Club for Years 7-9 inspires young minds with fun experiments that encourage discovery. Gardening Club allows students to explore Plant Biology whilst also enhancing our school's biodiversity and sustainability. For Year 8, the Faraday Challenge provides a unique cross-curricular competition against other regional schools, where creativity and problem solving intersect. The Year 8 science fair offers a wider opportunity for independent investigations.
Students in Years 9-11 can dive into robotics and electronics in STEM Club, crafting programmable working models and competing in national events like the Big Bang competition.
Year 12 students can tackle the National CanSat Competition Uk, designing and building a satellite the size of a drinks can, with sponsorship and guidance from the European Space Agency. For those aspiring to healthcare careers, MedSoc (Years 12 & 13) offers a student-led platform to share research and insights within a supportive setting. Sixth form also support younger peers with Science Prefects volunteering their time as mentors, fostering a collaborative and engaging environment.
At King's, we pride ourselves on nurturing a love for STEM, helping students thrive and make an impact, as we shape the innovators of tomorrow!
