King's pupils shine at the County Schools Athletics Championship

31 pupils from King’s represented Peterborough at the County School Athletics Championship on Saturday making up two thirds of the squad. The conditions were horrible - cold, wet and windy - but that didn’t stop our athletes from giving 100% and achieving some great results.

In the Junior Girls’ competition, Lucy Buxton finished 5th in the 100m in a time of 14.5s with Izzy Lock in 7th. Saffron Tasker finished 3rd in the 200m in a time of 29.2s with Tolu Akinkuole in 6th. Saffron wasn’t finished there, winning the 300m with a time of 45.5s, with Millie Pinguenet finishing 3rd. Millie also finished 6th in a very quick 800m race with a new personal best time 2min 46.3s. Alice Bennet had a busy, but successful day, winning the sprint hurdles in 12.7s and finishing 3rd in the High Jump with Natasha Hobbs 6th.
