All girls in action this week
The Girls' U15 County Cricket team played St Ivo School in the County Cricket Final. There was a mix of Years 7 to 10 girls involved and they all pulled together for a great performance overall. In the first match, it was a close game with St Ivo winning 71-65. Unfortunately, in the second match our batting took a hit and we were all out for 35, so St Ivo won again with 65 runs, but the girls managed to get them all out. A fantastic afternoon of cricket was had by all.
The District Tournament was a busy affair this year, with 23 teams entering in Year 8. The King's team stormed through the group stages, conceding only 6 goals. In the semi-final against Hampton Gardens, they proved their dominance again, winning 5-0. They then faced Arthur Mellows Village College in the final and came out on top, winning 5-2 and taking the trophy. Fantastic team spirit and great play from all.
In their first District Tournament representing King's, the Year 7s were ready for a battle against the 19 other teams there. They played really well in the group stages, winning every game, and therefore progressed into the semi-final against Arthur Mellows. This was an extremely tense game, eventually going to extra time. In the extra 2 minutes that were played, they managed to score two more goals and secure their place in the final. Hampton Gardens were the team to beat and King's pulled off a 2-1 victory to secure the second trophy of the night.
