Accelerated Reader is a national scheme whereby pupils’ reading ability, vocabulary and comprehension are tested. Pupils are then allocated a number range, called a zpd. The Library books have been given stickers showing the Book Level and pupils can choose to read any of the books within their range in order to improve. After a book is finished a quick online test is taken to record results.

To find the Book Level of a book in the Library, you can use Oliver, the Library catalogue.  The search needs to be very specific, so please type in “Book Level 3.60” for example, and include the speech marks. You will then be able to see whether the book is available or on loan, and where to find it.
