Curriculum Departments

The King's (The Cathedral) School offers students a full and well balanced academic curriculum, which supports the aspirations of students, parents and the school. 

Our curriculum offers all students a full range of subjects at Key stage 3, providing the ideal preparation for GCSE level work.

At GCSE students will study a core of subjects (Mathematics, English, Sciences, Religious Studies and a Modern Foreign Language) and then choose four subjects from the option blocks, to complete their curriculum. All KS3 subjects are available with the addition of Business Studies from GCSE .

The majority of subjects are available for A-level study. Typically students will choose 5 subjects to study at A-level. Also available at A-level are Psychology and Economics, all students also study a General Studies course.
