The King's (The Cathedral) School

Peterborough

Since 1541, The King’s School has offered an outstanding quality of education. We are delighted to be one of the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country, but this has only been possible thanks to the support from staff, parents, governors, Old Petriburgians (the OPA) and members of King's Friends. Our extended family has helped us to develop wonderfully rounded individuals, in a Church of England foundation school, through a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities that appeal to all interests and tastes.

Central government funding is projected to do little more than cover our staffing and maintenance costs. Refurbishment, significant repair and any improvement of our facilities will only be possible through our ability to fundraise successfully. In the last five years, we have raised £21,000 through the School Walk, £5,000 for the Clock Tower Appeal and over £30,000 in Gift Aided Donations. This generous giving has enabled us to deploy core funding to support teaching and learning and maintain a broad and balanced curriculum.

We have established a Fundraising Committee as a sub-committee of the Governing Body to co-ordinate activity and build on our success to date. As an exempted charity we are bound by and operate within the rules laid down by the Charities Commission and also the Fundraising Regulator. We want your generous donation to have maximum impact on the lives of the children at the School, and we will do all we can to make sure that this is happening in as efficient and cost-effective way as possible.
