Year 7 Rugby

The Year 7 rugby team played their first matches of the season this week in a friendly tournament, with many of the boys playing in their first ever game of rugby! They started very well with a rather one-sided game against Thomas Deacon Academy, eventually winning 60-0! Their second game was a much closer contest against St. John Fisher School, which they also won, 35-25. Their final game was a tough match against the new Hampton Gardens School, who proved too athletic in the end and King's eventually lost 15-20. Man of the Match was Joseph Beesley.

1st XV

Having got a bye in the first round, Thursday saw the 1st XV travel to The Perse School in Cambridge to play in the second round of the national Vase competition. Unfortunately our opponents were more fully prepared having returned from a pre-season tour of South Africa and King's suffered a heavy defeat. King's struggled to make an impact, although Thomas Lishman came close to scoring with a 60 yard run towards the line. Man of the Match was Angus Hoyland, despite forgetting his boots!
