The School was invited to take part in the South Lincolnshire U13 Indoor District Tournament on 9 January, which was a great opportunity to take part in some Indoor Hockey and to develop new skills. All of the team played extremely well, winning three matches and drawing one, meaning that they won the tournament overall.

Team: Sasch Downer (Captain), Grace Niklasson, Mia Permarker, Carys Attwell, Anna Jackson, Olivia Bowden, Circe Rodger and Hannah Barkshire.

Two further Indoor Hockey fixtures have been played; the Year 8 and 9 Girls played Bourne Academy, both teams winning 4-0 and 4 -3 respectively.

This week a King’s Schools Mixed Team from Years 11-13 played Saffron Walden County High Sixth Form Mixed Team. It was a very exciting match and hopefully we will be able to play some further Mixed Fixtures in the future. The team unfortunately lost 5-2 but Player of the Game was Eleanor Marshall. The goals were scored by Alistair Mortimer and Annie Howells.

The KS4 District Doubles Badminton Tournament was held at Ormiston Bushfield Academy on Thursday 25 January.

In the girls’ event Keren Siapno and Charlotte Sethna reached the quarter finals and in the boys’ event Ali Kanji and Isaac Rowles also reached the quarter finals.

Keshayar Datoo and Chris Seery got to the final which was a very close game but the final score was 17-15 to the team from OBA, so they finished 2nd overall.
