Sports Round-up w/c 06 November

Rugby & Basketball Results

The 1st XV had a gruelling trip to Saffron Walden this week to face a strong team in the latest round of league fixtures. A rather depleted team made a bad start and soon fell 14 points behind. The boys gathered themselves and eventually scored a well-deserved try through Ollie Stevens. Unfortunately it was more one way traffic, conceding several tries and only answering back with a late breakaway try from David Runacres, the final score being a disappointing 47-10.

The U16 team faced a strong Arthur Mellows Village College team in their second league match this week and also didn’t start particularly well, with the boys 12-7 down at half time. The third quarter of the game was much better and King's produced a dominant display to take a commanding lead thanks to baskets from Joe Burborough and Tomi Ogunyoye. The boys managed to hold on for a well-deserved victory 22-20, with Joe Burborough named Most Valuable Player.
